Daily Headlines on contemporary issues that impact a Biblical Christian worldview.
“Abortion pills called ‘lifesaving care’”…
“Walgreens has confirmed that it will not carry abortion pills in twenty states. Critics are calling for boycotts against the pharmacy chain, and pro-abortion political leaders are voicing their outrage as well.
For example, Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker, the highest elected official in the state where Walgreens is headquartered, tweeted: “@Walgreens must rethink this policy. To all the other pharmacy providers, we’ll stand with you so you can provide this lifesaving care.”
Let’s be clear: not a single American state, no matter its abortion restrictions, has a law preventing medical treatment to save the life of a pregnant woman. How many abortions are necessary to save the life of the mother?”
“GOP to advance bills that would ban biological males competing in women’s sports”…
“Republicans in the House of Representatives are set to advance legislation that would ban biological males from competing in women’s sports for the first time.
The House Education and Workforce Committee, headed by Chairwoman Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., is expected to review a set of bills that would address growing concerns over biological males choosing to compete against women, as well as protect parental rights, during a Wednesday markup.”
“China’s Foreign Minister Warns of ‘Conflict’ With US”…
“China’s foreign minister on Tuesday warned that “confrontation and conflict” are on the horizon unless the United States backs down to China, a warning that comes as President Joe Biden faces criticism for failing to address Beijing’s hostile behavior.
“If the U.S. side does not put on the brakes and continues down the wrong path, no amount of guardrails can stop the derailment and rollover into confrontation and conflict,” Qin Gang, a former ambassador to the United States, said at the National People’s Conference in Beijing, NBC News reported. Qin warned that continued efforts from the United States at “containment and suppression” of China would make conflict inevitable.”
“FBI whistleblowers send shockwaves with warning that threat tags used to target conservatives”…
“What do school parents, Catholic attendees of Latin Mass and pro-life activists have in common? They’ve all been branded by the FBI as potential domestic terrorist threats in what whistleblowers say is a growing trend of using intelligence threat tags to enforce cancel culture.
The latest revelation came this past weekend when House Republicans released testimony from an FBI whistleblower who alleged colleagues in the bureau flipped a terrorist threat tag originally created to flag threats against pro-life Supreme Court justices into a signifier that anti-abortion protesters were somehow a threat.
“30,000 Petitioners Call for Defense of Former Georgia Police Officer’s Free Speech Rights”…
“In a massive show of public support for former Georgia police officer Jacob Kersey, over 30,000 petitions will be delivered to the mayor and city council of Port Wentworth on Friday, March 10, calling on the city officials to apologize for infringing on the First Amendment rights of Kersey. The 19-year-old was pulled from duty and pressured to resign his position in January over a Facebook post he wrote on his personal account upholding a biblical view of marriage.
Former Congressman Jody Hice, now senior advisor to Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, Bishop Garland Hunt of The Father’s House, and former Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran will join Georgia pastors in delivering the petitions in support of Kersey.”
“More than 3.2 million US public school students are covered by guidance that blocks parents from knowing whether their child identifies as a different gender in the classroom — which could become federal policy if President Biden’s Title IX proposals are approved in May.
At least 168 districts governing 5,904 schools nationwide have rules on the books that prevent faculty and staff from disclosing to parents a student’s gender status without that student’s permission, according to a list compiled by the conservative group Parents Defending Education and shared with The Post.”
“NYC Mayor Eric Adams provokes firestorm with comments on church and state”…
“Look no further than the firestorm that erupted when New York City Mayor Eric Adams statedrecently, “Don’t tell me about no separation of church and state. State is the body. Church is the heart. You take the heart out of the body, the body dies.” Speaking at his administration’s annual interfaith breakfast, he added: “I can’t separate my belief because I’m an elected official. When I walk, I walk with God. When I talk, I talk with God. When I put policies in place, I put them in with a God-like approach to them.”
Adams explained: “That’s who I am. And I was that when I was that third grader, and I’m going to be that when I leave government. I am still a child of God and will always be a child of God, and I won’t apologize about being a child of God. It is not going to happen.””
“Lauren Boebert blasts sex-ed classes. Twitter reminded her she was a teen mom”
“While speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) stated that public school students should be banned from learning about how LGBTQ+ people have sex.
“There are schools that are teaching worse than just gender ideology,” she said. “I mean they have comprehensive sex-ed. They’re teaching kids how to have and enjoy sex – and even same-sex sex.””
“Has the FBI Been ‘Weaponized’ by Politics?”
“Although half of voters still have a favorable opinion of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, most agree with a whistleblower’s description of the agency as having been “politically weaponized” by its leadership.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 50% of Likely U.S. voters have a favorable impression of the FBI, including 22% who have a Very Favorable view of the bureau. Forty-five percent (45%) now view the FBI unfavorably, including 24% who have a Very Unfavorable impression of the bureau. These findings are nearly unchanged since October 2022.
