AI and John’s Revelation

Is Artificial Intelligence part of God's plan?

The Apostle John writes what he sees in his vision of the Tribulation and God’s wrath pouring out on evil in the book of Revelation in the Bible. For centuries, people have discussed, argued, and questioned whether these things are literal, figurative, true, or even possible.

One global government, one global religion, one global economy, the mark of the beast, the image of the beast that is to be worshipped, John attempting to describe “beings” that attack and kill people by the hundreds of thousands, armies with millions of soldiers — can these things really happen?

Just read the most recent headlines and you begin to see how these things come together. I am not predicting dates and I’m not suggesting today’s technology is what John describes. I am stating that today’s technology proves that what John saw is viable, especially as technology continues to develop at warp speeds. Look at these examples:

· Visa is making changes to how people will carry credit cards.

“The new features could mean Americans will be carrying fewer physical cards in their wallets and will make the 16-digit credit or debit card number printed on every card increasingly irrelevant.” Could this be getting us closer to a single ‘mark’ that will be required to buy and sell in the last days (Revelation 13:16–17)?

The article continues: “I think (with these features) we’re getting past the point where consumers may never need to manually enter an account number ever again,” said Mark Nelsen, Visa’s global head of consumer payments…”

· Drones could transform future wars

“…nations are developing plans to deploy drone swarms in war. [They] could be used to take out air defenses or for massed attacks. The autonomous drones would use AI to inform US officials as they seek targets for precision missile strikes. Though the scenario is speculative, and far from official US military doctrine, it is a glimpse of a plausible future, and one other countries are thinking about too.” Could these be the images of attacking ‘beings’ that John describes (Revelation 9:10–21)?

· Microsoft and OpenAI build supercomputer

“Microsoft has built one of the top five publicly disclosed supercomputers in the world, making new infrastructure available in Azure to train extremely large artificial intelligence models… Built in collaboration with, and exclusively for OpenAI, the supercomputer hosted in Azure was designed specifically to train that company’s AI models.” One commenter stated, “By harnessing the power of AI, financial institutions can leverage vast amounts of data…” Can this bring us closer to a one-world government and economy?

· Cool or creepy? Microsoft’s VASA-1 is a new AI model that turns photos into ‘talking faces’ | Tom’s Guide (tomsguide.com)

These links address current and the potential future of AI images without 3D glasses or additional equipment. An image, photographs, even a full-scale humanoid robot can be given an AI voice, cloned to sound just like a specific individual. Can this lead us to the image of the beast that will be worshipped (Revelation 13:15)?

According to the Bible, the “end times” began at Jesus’ ascension into heaven so it is no wonder that 2,000 years later we are ‘closer’ than ever before to the return of Jesus. Jesus said that when we begin to see the signs, His return is close (Luke 21:28–33).

These are truly exciting times as we expect and anticipate the quick return of Jesus. Be encouraged and keep your gaze upward, for our redemption truly is near.
