“Titled “Doubt & Faith: Top Reasons People Question Christianity,” the study is based on a survey of 2,005 U.S. adults and teenagers ages 13-17 conducted online from Dec. 13–22, 2022, with a margin of error of +/- 2.0 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.
The study also utilized a survey of 511 U.S. Protestant senior pastors conducted online from Dec. 13, 2021– Jan. 3, 2023.
“Over half of teens and adults (so, the U.S. general population ages 13+) report that they’ve experienced doubts about their religious beliefs at least sometimes (12% frequently, 16% occasionally, 24% sometimes) in the past few years,” an overview of the study states.”
“House passes bill to protect free speech from government interference, 206 Democrats oppose”…
“The GOP-led House passed the Protecting Speech from Government Interference Act on Thursday with 206 Democrats voting against it.
The vote on the legislation comes after the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government held a hearing on “the politicization of the FBI and DOJ and attacks on American civil liberties.”
“Oklahoma Christians win marijuana fight after foreign gangs ‘invaded’: ‘Don’t California our Oklahoma'”…
“On Tuesday, voters overwhelmingly knocked down a proposal to legalize recreational marijuana by a margin of 61.7% to 38.3%, with the measure failing in each of Oklahoma’s 77 counties.
A newspaper ad campaign had urged readers to block legalization, declaring “Don’t California Our Oklahoma.”
“The faith community, I believe, and of course, I’ve got an iron in the fire on this, but I believe the faith community was a major player in what happened here,” Paul Abner, president of Oklahoma Faith Leaders, told Fox News Digital.
“‘We Were Wrong’: Pioneer In Child Gender Dysphoria Treatment Says Trans Medical Industry Is Harming Kids”…
“Dr. Susan Bradley, a Canadian psychiatrist and pioneer in child gender dysphoria treatment, came out against the popular model of affirming children’s transgender identities and putting them on puberty blockers — a practice she was once involved in — in an interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Bradley started a pediatric gender clinic in 1975 aimed at treating children with gender dysphoria — a deep sense of discomfort with one’s body and biological sex — in which she offered a therapy-focused approach; most patients outgrew their feelings of being transgender over time, she told the DCNF. Around 2000, the clinic began prescribing puberty blockers to gender-dysphoric children as a way to alleviate their distress, a model which has since become widely adopted by medical establishments around the world, including in the U.S.
“Canadian Catholic student arrested, charged after saying men, women are different: ‘Embarrassing'”…
“Arrested for holding Christian beliefs at a Christian school? Canadian Catholic high school student Josh Alexander claims that’s the story behind authorities arresting – and charging – him for trying to attend class last month.
Alexander was a student at a Canadian Catholic high school in Ontario until he spoke his mind over concerns of men in women’s restrooms at the institution.
Distinguishing men from women and believing God created only two genders, he suggested, eventually led authorities to arrest and charge him for the offense.”
“MSNBC Editor Slams Pro-Military ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ As ‘Poisonous’’”…
“MSNBC’s Zeeshan Aleem didn’t bash the military as badly as Jane Fonda did during Vietnam but he’s not a fan. The journalist complained that “Top Gun: Maverick” paints too rosy a picture about the U.S. military.
Mr. Aleem described the Oscar-nominated movie’s message as “insidious” and “poisonous” in a report published Saturday. He claims the studio surrendered script control to the Pentagon in exchange for access to military hardware like planes and ships.”
“Record-Low 15% of Americans View China Favorably”…
“Gallup has tracked China’s image in the U.S. at least once a year since 1996 and, prior to that, measured it six times between 1979 and 1994. Favorability of China was highest in early 1989, at 72%, but it fell to 34% later that year in the aftermath of the Tiananmen Square incident. From that point until 2017, China was viewed in a positive light by 33% to 50% of Americans. For just the third time in the trend, favorability rose to the majority level in 2018 (53%). However, it fell to 41% in 2019, 33% in 2020, and 20% in 2021 and 2022 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Before this year’s 15% rating, 20% was the lowest on record.”
