Denominational Identification Means Nothing to God

It’s all about the individual’s heart. –

Denominations and Heaven –

There is no question that some denominations and religious groups have a formal theology that, if adopted, leads to eternal life… while others clearly do not. However, our Lord looks at the heart of the individual and not the church, synagogue, temple, or the group one is affiliated with. There are saved Muslims and lost Baptists. There are Messianic Jews and there are hell-bound Pentecostals and Presbyterians. There are those who attend church whenever the doors are open, heading to Hell, and those who have not been to church in decades, heading to Heaven.

A Joke On Denominations –

An old but sadly true joke is told that when St. Peter welcomed a new member into the heavenly realm, he cautioned him as they rode up the elevator to the level where the newbie would reside for eternity… St. Peter asked him to be quiet when passing the Southern Baptist floor because “they think they are the only ones here”.

God Focuses on the Individual –

For many, there seems to be a false comfort in assuming that by being a “good” Jew Mormon, or Catholic one has a denominational ticket into Heaven. That is nothing more than the evil one corrupting humanity. Our eternal residence is totally and exclusively dependent on our own personal decision to accept or reject Christ as both our Savior and our Lord. For those who are drawn to God, through Christ, the rest of theology, in all its controversy and nuances can be discussed and debated at length, on the other side of the grave.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
