Eternal Love

We long for love, for acceptance, for good company, and people who share our heart. We do this because we were made to do this. We were made to seek love because without it we have no reason to exist. The world is very alluring in what it can give but it cannot give love. So often the thing with which we crave the most we deny ourselves of it and pursue the world. Thankfully, there is one love that is more than enough for us, more than capable of satisfying us. It is not the love from people who care and then turn away, who are here one day and gone the next. It is the love of Jesus Christ that is the Source of our creation and the Destiny of our existence.

The greatest love we receive is all that the Lord has done for us. We should not take lightly all the work of the Lord and His believers in generations past who have laid the foundation for our purpose today. Grab hold tightly to the calling for your life. It is very serious what God has done for you. He knew you in advance and chose you to be like His Son, calling you to Him and giving you right standing with Himself, and upon giving you right standing He gave you His glory. There is nothing more beautiful than eternal glory which is wrapped in power, awesome might, and peace that surpasses all understanding, an inheritance for those called to be like His Son Jesus.

Paul writes about people who refuse to accept God’s way of getting right with Him by trying to keep the law but yet Christ accomplished the reason for which the law was given. People are made right with God by believing in Jesus. It says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9) “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced.” (Romans 10:11)

This is who we must trust in for eternal love that never grows old. God gave His Son for us. He gives us everything else. He has seated Jesus Christ in the place of honor at God’s right hand. His believers are seated with Him in heavenly places. There is not a better story than being born in the royal family of God, separated from Him by our own will, then joined back with Him in His great Kingdom for all eternity by His Son Jesus.

To close I will quote Romans 8:37, “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.”

Peace be unto you,

Donald
