CDC Gun Control – Fox News – “CDC removed stats on defensive gun use over pressure from gun control activists: report…The stats sourced from a CDC-commissioned study finding that instances of defensive gun use occur between 60,000 and 2.5 million times per year. References to that study were deleted from the site following private meetings with gun control advocates in 2021, emails obtained and published by The Reload show.
Death Penalty Commuted – LGBTQ Nation – “Out Gov. Kate Brown commutes the sentences of all 17 of Oregon’s death row inmates…“I have long believed that justice is not advanced by taking a life, and the state should not be in the business of executing people.”… “Unlike previous commutations I’ve granted to individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary growth and rehabilitation, this commutation is not based on any rehabilitative efforts by the individuals on death row,” Brown said. “Instead, it reflects the recognition that the death penalty is immoral. It is an irreversible punishment that does not allow for correction; is wasteful of taxpayer dollars; does not make communities safer; and cannot be and never has been administered fairly and equitably.”
Gender Transition – The Washington Stand – “Biden Admin Can’t Force Religious Hospitals to Perform Gender Transition Surgeries, Another Court Rules… The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) may not enforce a rule against religious entities that interprets “antidiscrimination laws in a way that compels them to perform and provide insurance coverage for gender transitions,” a panel of the Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit ruled Friday…. In the case, Sisters of Mercy v. Becerra, “a coalition of entities affiliated with the Catholic Church” argued that an HHS rule interpreting Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act and Title VII would do “irreparable harm” by substantially burdening their free exercise of religion. The Eighth Circuit upheld a permanent injunction issued against HHS and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) by the District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Gender Identity in School – Fox News – “San Francisco mandates teaching gender identity in elementary school: ‘parental involvement not required’… The document claims that, according to California law, educators do not need ‘permission’ to teach kids about topics regarding sex and gender identity… A “teaching guide for elementary grades” has been distributed by the San Francisco Unified School District instructing educators to “explore integrating LGBTQ themes and weaving information about LGBTQ family and gender diversity into your teaching throughout the school year.” The 18-page document, “LGBTQ Family + Gender Diversity: Teaching Guide for Elementary Grades” contains sections on inclusive language, common terms, classroom practices and when their teachings require parental involvement.”
