God will either give us what we ask or give us what we would have asked if we knew everything he knows.

Quick Quote – Source – Tim Keller

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – C.S. Lewis said the same thing when quoted, “God intends to give us what we need, not what we now think we want.” The more contemporary version of this truth is, “Thank God for unanswered prayers.”, taken from a Garth Brooks song.

The point of course is that God knows us better than we know ourselves. He is omniscient, knowing everything. So, when we are frustrated that our prayers remain unanswered or the traffic makes us late for a meeting, or whatever the situation, we need to trust that, as believers, we are safely in His hands (Isaiah 41:10) and subject to His perfect timing.
