God’s Promise for Tithers

Being a tither has promises from God that are sacred and incredibly powerful. God adorns certain rights for those who obey Him by giving a tenth of their finances to the Lord.

First off, why should we tithe? Tithing is not a requirement of salvation but tithing holds additional benefits for those who do. There are many characters in the bible who abide by this and saw the revelation of God’s hand in their finances and in their lives.

Malachi 3:10–12 is where we find the promise for His tithers.

“‘Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘if I will not open for you the windows of Heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,’ says the Lord of hosts; ‘and all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightsome land,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

There are three parts to this promise, a requirement, a reward, and an effect.

Requirement

If we are to take part in the tither’s promise we have to give a tenth of our wealth and obey what God wants us to give. From our obedience, no matter how big or small, God uses that for His will. Blessings are given to those who receive your gift and blessings to you who gives. The money you give to the Lord will come back to you multiplied.

Reward

The Lord says for us to try Him, which means to prove what He has said to be true, that He shall pour out a great harvest for us so great we will not have enough room to receive it. Think about that for a second. Do you need a blessing in your life? Well, God promises one that is so great you won’t have enough room for it. You’ll have to share it with people and they will live in your overflow.

His promise encompasses everything prosperous for you such as your health, your finances, your relationships, your calling. The Lord also promises that the enemy that seeks to devour your blessings will be rebuked for the protection of your blessings which are your health, your finances, your relationships, your calling. The Lord specifically promises protection so that ALL nations shall call you blessed, for you will be a delightsome land, says the Lord of hosts.

Effect

All nations shall call you blessed for you will be fruitful and abundant in all that you have. People will notice how blessed you are and will start asking you how all this happened, and you’ll say, “It wasn’t me, it was the Lord!”

You will be a delightsome land, which in terms of agriculture means blooming forth many crops, and fertile ground that when seeds fall on it they just explode into life and life abundantly, multiplying greatly.

All aspects of your life fall under the tither’s promise of blessing and protection if you choose to take part in it. Seek the Lord in these matters and let Him direct you wherever He likes, then it is your responsibility to obey.

Peace and blessings be unto you,

Donald
