How To Evaluate the Validity of Various Arguments, Positions, and Statements

As an addendum to the article “Applying Reasonableness to the 2020 Election Results,” a similar approach can help you evaluate the validity of various arguments, positions, and statements. If a news source, group, government agency, person, or even your friends have proven to lie to you in the past, hide information, or limit what can be said (censored) instead of being willing to hold an open and free discourse, those tactics are pretty much proof positive their position, argument or statement is invalid. It’s built on dishonesty.

Of course, the opposite is true as well. If someone is willing to lay all their cards on the table, so to speak, is willing to hear all you have to say, and no information is censored, then their words are worthy of honest consideration and may very well be true. Taking the next step, it is incumbent on you to be sure you are not the one that may be hiding some information or being closed-minded to make a point. It’s not evil, it’s only human (Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?).
