A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Just like the Scripture tells us that we cannot possibly imagine how wonderful Heaven will be like, we also cannot fathom the depths of pain, suffering and abandonment Jesus endured as payment for our sins. Though we only have a glimpse into the relationship between the Father and the Son, we know that on the night of His betrayal Jesus, knowing what awaited Him, and, in His humanity, asked God to relieve Him of our burden.
Luke 22:42 “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
Jesus in His divinity, knew God’s will would be done and so, He suffered and died on the cross, for out sins.
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,
