Quick Quote – Source – Tim Keller
A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – We count the sins of others on a regular basis. As with so many other criteria mankind uses to evaluate “success” on this earth, we keep a tally of how much better, kinder, smarter, quicker, healthier, richer, etc. we are compared to others. It does not seem to matter that God’s calculus is so different than ours; that His mercy and grace extend as far as needed to cover every sin imaginable. That the worst behavior of man can be covered over by the blood of Christ, yet the kindest and most compassionate of men will be rejected by God if we have not received His Son as our personal Savior and Lord. it is a conundrum and a challenge for humanity, but God sets His own rules as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. We are the clay and He is the Potter (2 Cor. 4:7) and nothing we say or do can change that reality. For the true believer, sin, all sin, every sin – is covered by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
