What does God desire in a church?

Quick Quote – Source – Jeff Hilles

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – The Church has always been a community-based support group. However, large churches have allowed anonymous worship that reduces fellowship on Sunday and offers the potential for a lack of Christian engagement the rest of the week. They are often well-run and performance-based with engaging preaching, professional worship music, and great media exhibitions. Many Sr. Pastors find themselves drawn to more public arenas and political connections due to their popularity. Finally, they are under more pressure and scrutiny by outsiders, increasing the temptation to be politically correct.

Because of the geographic draw necessary for attendance, members can find themselves choosing to limit their involvement in activities outside of Sunday mornings due to travel time. Not only are parents making a statement on their level of spirituality, but they are establishing benchmarks for their kids’ level of involvement as well.

Are you receiving what God desires to build you up in Christ, providing fellowship, regular opportunities for engagement, and accountability attending your House of Worship?

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. – Hebrews 10:24-25
