Daily Headlines on contemporary issues that impact a Biblical Christian worldview.
“On Good Friday years ago, NYC skyscrapers lit up with crosses and showed a nation that embraced faith”…
“Faith leaders and ordinary Americans are stunned by a spectacular public display of Christian faith that lit up the skyscrapers of New York City on Good Friday in 1956 and resurfaced on social media this week.
“It’s a very powerful image,” Alex McFarland, president of McFarland Ministries in North Carolina, told Fox News Digital.
“My heart was moved to think about that time when publicly and culturally we were not ashamed to invoke not only God, but invoke Jesus Christ.”
But the values upon which the nation was founded appear not only to be waning today, but under direct assault by politicians, pop culture, education and academia. “
“Federal Judge Takes a Stand for Unborn Life and Women’s Health: Case Over Mifepristone Sparks Abortion Pill Debate”…
“Rarely, is a weekend so consequential as the days just pass when it comes to major news stories. Of course, as Christians around the world, were celebrating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. The world was not standing still. That’s certainly the case in the United States.
Huge news stories, every one of them important and most of them coming with very significant worldview dimensionality. So let’s just look first of all at what might be most urgent. Most urgent in terms of the headlines is probably what took place on Friday evening when Federal Judge Matthew Kascsmryk handed down a decision saying that the FDA, the Food and Drug Administration had acted hastily in approving a specific abortion drug. It happens to be the most popular drug used in pharmaceutical abortion.”
“Karine Jean-Pierre defends ‘independence of NPR’s journalists’ after Twitter label”…
“White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday there was “no doubt” about the independence of National Public Radio (NPR) after Twitter labeled it a “state-affiliated” media outlet.
“Christians Must Take Children to Transgender Procedures or They Can’t Adopt: Oregon State Law”…
“The state of Oregon refused to allow a Christian mother of five to adopt two children after she said her religion would not let her take a young minor to receive cross-hormone injections — a policy that could prevent up to 78% of Americans from adopting children. Requiring adoptive parents to facilitate transgender procedures acts as a form of religious discrimination against many world religions, her attorneys say.”
“103 Pastors Trained in Central China”…
“Hubei Provincial CC&TSPM conducted the third session of training courses for pastors from Jingzhou City at Seed Church in Jianli City from March 20 to 24, said Jingzhou CC&TSPM.”
“Report details ‘staggering’ church sex abuse in Maryland”…
“More than 150 Catholic priests and others associated with the Archdiocese of Baltimore sexually abused over 600 children and often escaped accountability, according to a long-awaited state report released Wednesday that revealed the scope of abuse spanning 80 years and accused church leaders of decades of coverups.
The report paints a damning picture of the archdiocese, which is the oldest Roman Catholic diocese in the country and spans much of Maryland. Some parishes, schools and congregations had more than one abuser at the same time — including St. Mark Parish in Catonsville, which had 11 abusers living and working there between 1964 and 2004. One deacon admitted to molesting over 100 children. Another priest was allowed to feign hepatitis treatment and make other excuses to avoid facing abuse allegations.”
“Thousands sign petition calling on Disney to remove sexually explicit content from kids’ programming”…
“More than 10,000 concerned parents, grandparents and other adults have signed a petition asking Disney’s board of directors to remove sexually-charged content in its children’s programming and other entertainment platforms owned by the corporation.
Those who’ve signed the petition, spearheaded by the Parents Television and Media Council (PTC), are calling on Disney to “return to producing uplifting, clean, inspiring content that families can trust.” In a statement released Monday, PTC Vice President Melissa Henson elaborated on some of the concerning content in children’s programming produced by the behemoth entertainment corporation.
“A young female character performs a sex act on herself. A teacher and her minor student have an illicit, and illegal, sexual relationship that is romanticized. A female teen finds out her dad is the Antichrist. All of these are scenes and/or themes from programs that currently air on Disney-owned platforms. All are targeted toward our youth,” Henson lamented.”
