Daily Headlines on contemporary issues that run counter to a Biblical Christian worldview.
Political Lies – Fox News – “NRCC pulls ads for Majewski after reports he didn’t actually serve in Afghanistan after 9/11?… The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is scrapping $1 million in scheduled TV ads for GOP congressional candidate J.R. Majewski after military records reportedly revealed he was never stationed in Afghanistan, despite claiming to have served there after the 9/11 terrorist attack.”
Human Composting – Yahoo News – “California legalizes human composting… California has joined Washington, Colorado, Vermont and Oregon in legalizing the composting of human remains.”
Air Force Agender Recruiting – Pittsburg Post Gazette – “Air Force Academy promotes fellowship that bans ‘cisgender’ men: ‘This program isn’t for you’… The U.S. Air Force Academy is encouraging cadets to apply for a fellowship program exclusively for cadets who identify as “agender, bigender, two-spirit, demigender,” etc…. The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado is encouraging cadets to apply for a fellowship program for “gender minorities” that specifies “cisgender” men need not apply. The academy sent an email on Sept. 14 informing cadets that the 2023 application for the Brooke Owens Fellowship for “undergraduate women and gender minorities interested in aerospace” is due by Oct. 10.”
California Power – Politico – “California’s lofty climate goals clash with reality… State officials knew ahead of the recent heat wave that the grid was on shaky ground…. An epic heat wave this summer brought California’s power grid to the brink of collapse, and put its governor on defense as he touted the state’s nation-leading climate goals… In Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s telling, the state kept the lights on because of its efforts to bolster renewable energy…. “Went right up to the edge of breaking our grid, but it didn’t,” Newsom said at a Clinton Global Initiative event this week, describing this month’s scorcher to dignitaries gathered in New York City for Climate Week at the U.N. “This transition worked.” The reality, however, is a lot messier. California’s recent decisions to postpone the closure of its last nuclear plant and to extend the life of some natural gas-fired facilities highlight what officials and experts say is the fact that the state with the most ambitious energy goals is far from achieving them.”
Washington Stand – FACT CHECK: ‘There Is No Such Thing as a Heartbeat at 6 Weeks,’ Says Stacey Abrams… Stacey Abrams, the Democratic candidate for governor of Georgia, denied that unborn children have a heartbeat at six weeks and that the ultrasound is part of a grand conspiracy to give men control over women’s bodies — statements that run contrary to well-established facts and medical standards of fetal development….The leading scientific and medical authorities have always referred to this activity as a fetal heartbeat. “At about six weeks, your baby’s heart beat [sic] can usually be detected,” according to The Cleveland Clinic, which is ranked the nation’s number one hospital for cardiology and heart surgery. Until last year, the number two cardiology hospital, the Mayo Clinic, stated, “The heart and other organs also are starting to form and the heart begins to beat” at six weeks. But the Mayo Clinic altered its guide last September, shortly after Texas passed its heartbeat law, erasing mention of the fetal heartbeat even before Planned Parenthood got around to airbrushing away its admission that during weeks 5-6 “[a] very basic beating heart and circulatory system develop.” (The nation’s largest abortion provider now claims, “It sounds like a heartbeat on an ultrasound, but it’s not a fully-formed heart.”)”
