The Irony Between Atheists and Christians in America

There is an interesting paradox happening all around us, between the extremes in our culture, which is sadly ironic. On certain overarching concepts, secularists, atheists, and humanists are all in agreement with the most avid Christians. From a Biblical Christian worldview perspective, that emerging reality could suggest we are approaching the end of American dominance, at best, or the labor pains which foreshadow the end of the world, at worst.

Extreme Factions – Atheists and Christians

Each individual is unique, with our own personal worldview. However, there are two clear groups whose extreme adherents see the other as the enemy…

  • There is a progressive movement in this country, broadly pushing concepts like open borders, socialism, reparations, equity toward equality, pro-choice, faith deconstructionism, gender reassignments, unpatriotism, and who view censorship as necessary. They see morality as defined by man and their opponents as fascists, MAGA, election deniers, and proponents of establishing a theocracy. Finally, their overarching concern is that conservatives are destroying the country.
  • There is also a conservative movement in the country, consisting broadly of Christians, patriots, and pro-life proponents. They see morality as determined by a higher power and see liberals as destroying the country.

Media Promotions – Atheists and Christians

The media plays on these extremes with never-ending rhetoric and fear-mongering in an attempt to attract and placate their base, further exacerbating the polarization of our country.

What is ironic is that both sides see the other as “destroying the country”, when, in reality, it is the lack of unity and a willingness to compromise that has become the basis for our destruction. History is simply repeating itself as America follows the same trajectory as past world powers such as the Romans and the Greeks.

America – Atheists and Christians Both Ironically Lose

Our nation is dying a slow and humiliating death. A few years ago, we had a president who was an embarrassment to this country. Today, we have a different president who is also an embarrassment to this country. Politics have become a battle zone of warring factions rather than a place of mutual compromise geared toward the improvement and protection of our country.

Our demise will likely not come from any conventional war with guns and rockets. It will come from a growing cancer within our borders, promoted no doubt by our external enemies (both on this earth and in the supernatural). The irony of all ironies is that not only will BOTH progressives and conservatives be correct in their assumption that America is being destroyed, but God predicted it thousands of years ago. It begins with the labor pains we see today. It will end with the rise of a leader to initially unify not just America, but the whole world. This “unity” will come through the most brutal form of totalitarianism that ever existed. However, following that, the end will come…

Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. – 1 Corinthians 15:24-26

In the meantime, as we watch and wait…

Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! – 2 Peter 3:11-12

American Christians need to…

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. – Romans 10:9

Then, as Christians, we need to…

In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, – 1 Peter 3:15
