Quick Quote – Source – Jeff Hilles
A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – So many that I respond to reject the Bible but state that they have drawn close to God nonetheless. There is no question that the Bible is not the sole source of spiritual growth. The believer has the Holy Spirit in his/her heart as a teacher. And, God can communicate with us through experiences and other Christians. However, the Bible is foundational to our faith and beliefs. It is the very the words of God, directed to mankind, and, as such, is the basis for our understanding of who God is and what He calls us to do. The key point is that whenever we hear from sources outside the Bible (other believers, teachers, dreams, experiences, insights, etc.) we need to filter those thoughts, behaviors, and ideas, through the lens of Scripture. To do otherwise is to open our hearts and minds to sources that are not from God.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
