Daily Headlines on contemporary issues that impact a Biblical Christian worldview.
“Why the indictment of Donald Trump is so encouraging for America”…
“Yesterday I focused on reasons the indictment of Donald Trump is so dangerous for America. Today, let’s consider reasons today’s events are so encouraging for our nation. As with my comments yesterday, today’s article will not take partisan political positions. Rather, we’ll consider foundational cultural issues that transcend even the history that will be made later today.”
“Gender dysphoria most common among teenage girls with ‘exceptionally high intelligence’: report”…
“A new report reveals that gender dysphoria has the highest prevalence among youth of European descent, with discomfort with one’s gender most common among children, especially girls with “exceptionally high intelligence” and a history of mental health issues.
A website called Parents of ROGD kids.com, which has formed a support group for families with gender dysphoric children, surveyed parents who believed they had children experiencing rapid onset gender dysphoria.”
“Democrat lawmaker loses it after state legislature overrides veto of transgender sports bill: ‘full of s—‘”…
“One Democrat lawmaker in Kansas was not happy after an overwhelming number of her colleagues voted to override the veto of a bill banning transgender students from participating in girls’ sports, according to a report by the Kansas Reflector.
Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly’s veto of HB2238 was overridden Wednesday after both houses of the Kansas state legislature, each with a Republican supermajority, cleared the two-thirds majority required for the bill to become law.
Following the Kansas House voting to override the veto in a lopsided 84-40 vote, Democratic Rep. Susan Ruiz stood up on the House floor and told her Republican colleagues they were “full of s—,” according to the report.”
“Twitter slaps NPR with ‘US state-affiliated media’ label”…
“The designation comes as NPR struggles to combat financial woes, with the firm announcing in late March that it would slash multiple podcasts and lay off roughly 100 staffers to help close a budget deficit.
The @NPR handle sports a yellow badge with a white checkmark indicating its status as an “official organization,” but now includes the label immediately below the badge.
“State-affiliated media is defined as outlets where the state exercises control over editorial content through financial resources, direct or indirect political pressures, and/or control over production and distribution,” Twitter explains. “Accounts belonging to state-affiliated media entities, their editors-in-chief, and/or their prominent staff may be labeled.”
“Idaho Passes Law To Restrict Interstate Travel For Abortion Care For Minors”…
“Idaho just became the first state to implement an interstate travel restriction on abortion care since the Supreme Court repealed federal protections last year.
Gov. Brad Little (R) signed a law on Wednesday evening that bans minors from traveling out of state for abortions without parental consent. The law creates a new felony crime called “abortion trafficking,” which the legislation defines as an “adult who, with the intent to conceal an abortion from the parents or guardian of a pregnant, unemancipated minor, either procures an abortion … or obtains an abortion-inducing drug” for the minor.
“Predictions about the decline of Christianity in America may be premature”…
“Both Christian symbols are bookends to the Easter story. One symbolizes the tragic execution of Jesus while the other represents the Christian belief in his resurrection, and the claim that death does not have the final word on him or his followers.
As millions of Americans celebrate the holiest day in the Christian calendar on Sunday, most will hear some variation of this Easter message — finding new life in unforeseen places.
But that message could also describe a surprising prediction about the future of Christianity in the US.”
“Biden Admin Taps Liberal Journalism Institute To Teach Reporters How To Be ‘Balanced and Bias-Free’”…
“The Biden administration tapped a liberal journalism academy that once promoted a “blacklist” of conservative outlets to train reporters on how to create “balanced and bias-free” journalism.
The Poynter Institute held the training course with reporters as part of a contract with the U.S. Agency for Global Media, according to a federal spending database. The agency, which paid Poynter $23,500 for the course through March 31, oversees Voice of America and other government news outlets.”
