Abortion Pill – Politico – “Galvanized by Dobbs, more doctors are distributing abortion pills by mail… A new president could reverse an FDA rule change that made it possible… Doctors at online and brick and mortar primary care companies are slowly starting to prescribe medication abortion pills via telemedicine in states where it’s still legal following the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision ending the constitutional right to the procedure.”

Traditional Masculinity – Huffington Post – “Ben Shapiro Mocked For Claiming Military Has Abandoned ‘Traditional Masculinity’…The right-wing podcaster hasn’t served in the military himself, as many critics were quick to point out… In a clip posted on Twitter by Ron Filipkowski, the Daily Wire founder suggested that wars are best fought by what he described as “typically very patriotic, very male people.””

Putin and the Nuclear Option – The Hill – “US faces bleak options as Putin turns bellicose on nukes… U.S. officials are walking a careful line in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s latest suggestion that he may be willing to resort to nuclear weapons… “We have communicated to the Russians what the consequences would be, but we’ve been careful in how we talk about this publicly because, from our perspective, we want to lay down the principle that there would be catastrophic consequences, but not engage in a game of rhetorical tit for tat,” White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Sunday on ABC.

Same-Sex Marriage in Cuba – Huffington Post “Cuba Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage, Adoption In Historic Referendum… Cubans have approved a sweeping “family law” code that would allow same-sex couples to marry and adopt as well as redefining rights for children and grandparents, officials said Monday, though opposition in the national referendum was unusually strong on the Communist Party-governed island. The measure — which contains more than 400 articles — was approved by 66.9% to 33.1%…”

Government Spending – The Hill – “Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan to cost about $400 billion: CBO… The estimate applies to the plan Biden announced last month to forgive $10,000 in federal student loan debt for borrowers earning under $125,000 and $20,000 for borrowers who received Pell Grants.”

Stock Market – AP – “Stocks fall on recession fears; Dow slips into bear market…The Dow Jones Industrial Average became the last of the major U.S. stock indexes to fall into what’s known as a bear market Monday as the market deepened its slump amid growing fears of a global recession… The blue chip index fell 1.1%, while the S&P 500 closed 1% lower and the Nasdaq dropped 0.6% as the indexes extended their losing streak to a fifth day.
