When it comes to the Bible, there is a big difference between the words “interpret” and “reinterpret”.

Quick Quote – Source – Jeff Hilles

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – God wrote the Bible as a timeless call to mankind across the ages. So, we do need to interpret the text through the lens of 2023 terminology. However, that does not mean we have the liberty to reinterpret and/or ignore God’s precepts by filtering them through humanity’s changing cultural norms. It means, for example, words like LGBTQ+ were not in the lexicon of those who penned Scripture (by divine inspiration) in the first century, but that does not preclude the reality that the concept was addressed in Biblical terms, to be timeless through today and beyond.
