Who Are the Real Aliens?

The end of the alien encounters is approaching. The book of Revelation tells us that Jesus will return to this earth to take His rightful place as ruler.

There is a lot about aliens in the news right now. There have been sightings of strange phenomena in the sky and tall creatures with shiny eyes appearing in a family’s backyard. Many people are suspicious of the government, claiming it is hiding the truth about alien visitation. With so many reports over the decades, it is hard to dismiss them all as someone’s hallucination. Do aliens live among us? Are they visiting us on a regular basis? It is possible.

The real truth is, we human beings are the aliens in this cosmic environment and I believe the Bible backs me up.

Our ancestors were created by a Supernatural Being (God) and placed upon this planet to tend it and fill it with offspring. They were given instructions on what to do but warned there was a danger involved. If they wanted to live in peace and harmony, they needed to stay away from a certain tree. If they ate the fruit of that tree, they would die. We know the story. They did what God told them not to do, and they were plunged into a world of death, shame, and fear. The knowledge of evil created a desire for evil and so human beings have lived in this struggle between good and evil ever since.

God, the creator, foresaw the inevitable and so made a plan to bring human beings back to Him. This is the story communicated in the Bible.

The world is described as “a dominion of darkness” as opposed to God’s “kingdom of light” (Col. 1:12,13). It says that God “has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves…” This might be mysterious language for those who are not familiar with the Bible’s teachings, but for those who are interested in spiritual things, they know the spiritual realm is real. Most human beings, especially Westerners who are trained to only believe what we can see with our eyes, do not understand the drama unfolding in the spiritual realm.

Why did God have to rescue us? Paul the Apostle goes on to tell us in his letter to the Colossians that we were alienated from God and were his enemies. This proves my point, that we are the real aliens. We have been duped into thinking God is the bad guy in the Bible’s scenario, when in reality, we are blinded by a dark warlord. Yes, it does sound like it’s straight out of science fiction.

So, if this is true, that we are alienated from God and living in darkness, what is the way out? The Bible says, God “has reconciled (restored relationship with) you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation…” (Colossians 1:22). That means that when we believe Jesus died for our sins, we are made new and brought into the kingdom of light. That is what happened to me. Once I was blind to the truth. The moment I acknowledged that I wanted to connect with God, I received spiritual sight. I only realized I had been living in darkness when the light was turned on.

The end of the alien encounters is approaching. The book of Revelation tells us that Jesus will return to this earth to take His rightful place as ruler. John saw a vision he described as a rolling back of the heavens to reveal the heavenly King. It is a frightful picture for anyone who stands opposed to the God who created all things (Revelation 6:14–16).

I am not writing this to scare people into becoming a Christian. That isn’t the best way to convince people to follow the God of love. But if people are scared or exhilarated at the idea of aliens visiting Earth, it is just the shadow of something more wild than one can imagine.

The Apostle Peter, Jesus’ fiery follower, wrote, “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.

The good news is, Jesus did not come into the world to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through Him. If you don’t already know Him, open your heart to Him and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. He invites you into His kingdom of light!
