Quick Quote – Source – C. S. Lewis
A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – When Lewis wrote that statement some years ago, I suspect most in this country would have agreed with the basic premise, that we need to love God first and then love our neighbor (Luke 10:27). Today however that is no longer the case. Many have turned away from the Bible and God’s command to follow Christ in all things as a foundation of our love for mankind. Love is more than accepting people for who they are and what they stand for. It includes a recognition that God stands above our selfish desires and personal preferences. Ultimate love of our neighbor includes sharing God’s eternal requirements for entrance into Heaven through loving Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and accepting His Son as a sacrifice for our sins. Expressing these truths extends our love of our neighbor from the earthly to the eternal.
